TTS / ACTIVE HEAVE COMPENSATED KNUCKLE BOOM CRANE

A new control system.
A new path forward.

Complete redesign. Full implementation. A milestone in bringing ALATAS control technology to TTS AHC knuckle boom cranes.

Build the solution.
Expand what’s possible.

Together with ALATAS, this project brought a completely redesigned crane control system to a TTS Active Heave Compensated knuckle boom crane—the first ALATAS control-system implementation on this crane type.

The scope extended through both redesign and implementation. It called for a complete view of the crane as an operating system, connecting the controls and operator interface with the requirements of the equipment and its application.

For me, this is the kind of work that defines the value of technical depth: understanding an existing machine well enough to develop a new solution around it. It reflects the ambition I bring to our work with ALATAS—challenge assumptions, understand the customer’s needs, and turn engineering ideas into working equipment.

Engineering, brought
into the cab.

The photographs show the implemented operator interface in its working environment. This is where the control-system design meets the person operating the crane—and where the details of presentation, equipment information, and system interaction become tangible.

A CLOSER LOOK / OPERATOR INFORMATION

Put the equipment
in context.

The photographed interface includes a graphical operating envelope with height and outreach axes, a displayed safe working load, and an event list. It provides a concrete view of the information presented through the redesigned control system.

Shown here is a screen from the project; displayed values relate to the photographed operating state.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Technical understanding.
The confidence to innovate.

This project connects the themes behind Crane Commander: practical equipment knowledge, the drive to push boundaries, and the collective capability of ALATAS to bring a solution to life.
